California Clarification to Reimbursement Requirement for Employees

Under CA Senate Bill 809, additional clarifications to employer duties to reimburse employees for business expenses have been issued. The change expands the definition to include the use of an employee-owned vehicle used by that individual to discharge their duties. Construction trucking is specifically mentioned in the bill, requiring an employer to reimburse for the use, upkeep, and depreciation of a privately owned truck, trailer, tractor, or other commercial vehicle.
