March 21, 2012 - Local firm hires laid-off employees
A Kingsburg firm has added workers recently laid off from a Selma business. The recent closure of CompuPay, a national payroll provider in Selma, meant the loss of several Selma jobs, but Payality, a Kingsburg-based payroll management company has hired former CompuPay employees. "I'm so pleased to be part of the local Payality team and grateful for the opportunity to continue to work in an industry and with a software system that I know well," said Carolyn McCarley, a laid-off CompuPay employee, now at Payality. Payality president Chet Reilly says the company is committed to supporting the local economy. Reilly is a member of the Kingsburg City Council.
"This area is already suffering from a tough economy and poor job prospects, so being able to provide jobs for such highly qualified people shows our commitment in supporting the local economy," he said.
The company provides payroll and human resources solutions for small and mid-size businesses in California.
CompuPay closed its Selma support center to offer services from its Tukwila, Wash. office.
